What is Mayfli?

Mayfli is a Marketplace platform where small UK business can sell their Handmade, Unique and personalised items.  We are passionate about supporting our sellers and giving our buyers the best experience possible and having the knowledge they are supporting UK businesses and helping grow our economy.

Who can sell on Mayfli?

This platform is only for sellers from the United Kingdom.

What is your pricing structure

We have 4 packages, please see the table with full details of our packages an what each package gives you here.

Can I swap between the different packages?

You can upgrade and downgrade on the monthly packages at any time and you can upgrade from a monthly to an annual package. Annual packages attract 2 months free and we ask for a commitment of a year from you for us to do this.

Who can buy on Mayfli?

Anyone can buy from Mayfli.

How do I get paid?

Payments are paid to you by Stripe directly to your account, you will receive an invoice monthly for all commission fees.  

What can I sell on Mayfli.

We are looking for the Best of the UK sellers that provide outstanding Handmade, Unique and personalised items along with Customer Care.  We are  looking for something special and out of the ordinary, nothing massed produced and imported. 

Can I sell Digital Downloads?

Yes we are taking on Digital Download sellers.

Do my prices need to be the same as they are on other platforms?

We ask that you keep your prices consistent with other outlets that you sell on.  Due to our pricing structure this should give you a bigger profit for any sales that come through Mayfli.

Can I import my items via CSV from Etsy?

Yes. We do have this amazing facility. This is a quick and simple process, although you will need to make a few changes to your listings once they've uploaded but please don't worry as we have a video to help.  You may want to make some changes to your descriptions, titles and tags as you check over your listing.  Mayfli also has a great SEO section, and we have videos to help. 

Are there Stats for me to view?

Yes, you will be able to view your shop statistics on your seller dashboard. Along with your sales in each category, most active customer location, shipping cost per order, Top 10 Customers, Top 10 Categories, Top 10 Products and payment methods used. 

Can I list items with variations?

Yes. Mayfli has the best variation and shop tools to hand within any Marketplace.  See the video and look at the tools available within your shop. Here

Do you have an app?

Yes, the app is currently being built and is due to be released in Q1 2022.

Can I put my shop into holiday mode?

  • You can set Vacation mode
  • Start Date: When your store starts vacation
  • End Date: When your store re-opens
  • Allow add to cart: Select this is you still want to accept orders while on vacations. Do not select this if customers should not be able to purchase
  • Display return date: This will show customers the dates you will be on vacation
  • Message for Store: This is the message the customer will see regarding your vacation 

Can I sell custom makes, personalised items?

Yes, Mayfli is designed for Personalisation with all our unique functions to help both the seller and buyer have as much choice as possible and give all the information needed to process the order.  Having been a seller myself, having to chase up customers for more information was both time consuming and frustrating for both the seller and buyer.  Having these facilities takes away all of this.

Do I have to sign up for a minimum time?

No, we recognise that circumstances change, and you are free to close your shop at any time if you feel you need to.  Your shop becomes disabled when you cancel your subscription. 

Is there a limit to how many items I can have in my shop?

Your package dictates how many items you can have in your shop. Your items do not expire.

Can I have more than one shop on Mayfli?

Yes you can have multiple shops as long as they are accepted at the Application stage and they sell different items.

Do I have to comply with GDPR?

Yes, it is a mandatory requirement to have GDPR included in your Shop Policy section.

What is your copyright policy?

It is the shop owner’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with copyright. If copyrighted items are added and brought to our attention, then the seller will be asked to remove them immediately. We would like to not see repeat offences, incases like this we will contact you directly and discuss the options of your shop with us.  Closing of shops is our last resort but we would like sellers to respect our rules.  We may look at suspensions rather then shop closures.

Regulation compliance

All Mayfli sellers must comply with UK product legislation, including the following:

  • The General Product Safety Regulations
  • The Toy Safety Regulations 
  • The EU Regulation 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation)
  • The Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations
  • The Hallmark Act 1973
  • The Nickel in Jewellery Regulations
  • The Food Imitation Safety Regulations
  • The Food Hygiene Regulations

In all cases you should make sure your work complies with the above legislation. If in doubt contact your local trading standards office

What are the criteria for photographs?

Having great product photography is essential as the online selling industry grows, we strongly believe having great shops on board with Exceptional Photography will help grow both yourself and MayFli to be the UK shopping destination.
